Sheffield United v Burnley preview

Burnley make the trip to Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon having lost just one of their last six matches, having not previously gone more than one game without defeat in the entire season.

Unfortunately for Vincent Kompany's side, only one of those recent matches have resulted in a victory, and the Clarets are going to need to start turning those draws into victories if they're to have any chance of maintaining their Premier League status into next season.

The Lancashire side start the weekend in 19th place in the table, two places and six points off safety, though hold a far inferior goal difference to all of the teams above them in the league.

Burnley have won only two of their 16 away games in the Premier League this season, a tally they will be looking to add to this weekend, but with just won defeat in their last three matches on the road, the Clarets have been showing signs of improvement in recent weeks.

Kompany and co will be hoping their slight upturn in form isn't too little too late, and that their return to the top flight lasts longer than just the one season following their Championship-title winning season last time out.

Sheffield United head into their third-from-last home game of the season rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, having collected just 16 points from their 32 matches so far, currently sitting 10 points adrift of safety whilst also holding by far the worst goal difference in the league.

Chris Wilder's side, like Burnley, have found a hint of an upturn in form in recent weeks, going unbeaten in three of their last five matches, but hold no hope of avoiding relegation if they maintain their run of being without a win in their last eight.

The Blades have only won three Premier League matches in all competitions, also holding the worst home record in the top flight this season, and you'd expect them to need to each of their final three home games of the season to hold any chance of survival.

Burnley have won each of the last two meetings between the two sides, but have only won once at Bramall Lane in 50 years, a run spanning 21 matches and includes defeat in each of their last three away games against Sheffield United.

📝 Sheffield United v Burnley betting tips

Two of the Premier League's three leakiest defences come to blow on Saturday afternoon, which leaves both teams to score a seemingly safe bet for any Betfred #PickYourPunt's ahead of the match.

Oli McBurnie is the highest scoring player on either team this season with six goals to his name, including one in each of his last two home games, while his teammate Gus Hamer has been on the receiving end of more yellow cards than anyone on other team.

Combining all three stats together for a #PYP of both teams to score, McBurnie to score and Hamer to be carded gives odds of 6/1, which could prove to be a profitable punt.
