  • Manchester United to score over 2.5 goals Sheffield United are conceding an averaging of 2.7 goals per game in the Premier League this season, including having let in 42 in their last 13 games, at an average of 3.2 per game
  • Rasmus Hojlund to score The young Dane is United's joint top scorer this season, having played seven fewer games than Bruno Fernandes, whom he top the charts with, and will be brimming with confidence after scoring the winning penalty on Sunday
  • Alejandro Garnacho to have 1+ shot on target The Argentine winger is enjoying a breakthrough season as a regular starter for Manchester United for the first time, and has scored two goals in his last three Premier League games
  • Anel Ahmedhodzic to be booked No Sheffield United player has received more yellow cards this season than their Bosnian defender

Manchester United will be looking for a quick recovery after their FA Cup semi-final on Sunday afternoon in which they were so nearly on the receiving end of one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the competition.

3-0 up and cruising with less than 20 minutes to go, Championship side Coventry managed to take the tie to extra time, scoring the winner in the final minute before VAR adjudged a very slight offside in the buildup, with Manchester United eventually progressing on penalties.

The result means that Erik ten Hag's side are now winless in their last six matches across 90 minutes in all competitions, a record which has seen them lose what was a firm grasp on sixth place in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils now sit down in seventh, what is expected to be the final European qualification spot, but are only three points ahead of ninth placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand.

United do have the benefit, in their quest for Europe, of having the chance to qualify for the Europa League even if they finish outside the top six, with a spot in the group stage guaranteed if they win the FA Cup final, in which they will meet local rivals Manchester City for the second season in a row.

Should they lose the final, a seventh finish place would get them Europa Conference League football, while eighth would see them miss out on European football completely for the first time in 10 years.

Standing in Man Utd's way of a first win in 90 minutes in seven matches, are a Sheffield United side who are fighting for the lives down at the foot of the Premier League table.

Chris Wilder's side make the trip to Old Trafford without a win in any of their last nine outings, and their 4-1 loss at home to second bottom Burnley last weekend leaves them seven points adrift at the bottom of the table and 10 points from safety.

With only five games remaining for the Blades, defeat on Wednesday night could leave them on the cusp of relegation back to the Championship after only season in the Premier League, which could be finalised as soon as this weekend.

The Yorkshire side have just one away win to their name in the league this season ahead of Wednesday's trip, which is essentially a must win game should they have any aspirations of spending another season in the Premier League.

Sheffield United have won just one of their last 12 meetings with Manchester United going back 31 years, but did win on their last trip to Old Trafford three years ago, their only away win against United in the last 50 years.
